There is something about the touch and feel of fabrics that we have always enjoyed at Upasana. Clothing was our sole occupation when we started the studio, wading through dreams of representing India through its diverse collection of textiles. Upasana’s clothes have been inspired by traditional cuts, designs and fabrics, which we have interpreted in the modern context.

Although we are into fashion, our label has been established very much around our philosophy of Integral design. Our clothes have been designed with the idea of comfort for the wearer and to give the fabric its due freedom. We have been working with many different types of textiles and try to understand the content of the material itself, the dye used, the yarn type, etc. and designs are built around that. Look around our gallery and you will find that Upasana designs are practical and wearable and sometimes in some small measure also whimsical!
