An immersive introduction to Upasana's social impact projects and Auroville's philosophy - open to visitors, travellers, and groups from across the world who are curious about how design can serve as a tool for social change.

Design for Change is rooted in the living story of Upasana - a studio that has spent nearly three decades proving that design, at its deepest, is an act of care. Through the stories of Tsunamika, Varanasi Weavers, and Small Steps, participants witness how a simple act of making can restore dignity, rebuild communities, and transform adversity into collective resilience.

This session invites participants to move beyond the idea of design as aesthetic and into design as response. As healing. As action.

The Future of Fashion is Conscious

A guided journey into the spirit of conscious fashion through the lens of Upasana. Rooted in questions of sustainability, ethics, craft revival, and social innovation, this session is less about trends and more about truth: how can fashion become a path of care for people, for community, for the earth? It invites participants to see design not only as industry, but as responsibility, creativity, and care.

In this space, participants engage in dialogue that bridges creativity with impact, and explore how creativity can move beyond the self and into community. Design is not done in isolation - it is held in conversation, silence, and shared action. Through wardrobe reflections, storytelling, and dialogue, participants explore how what we wear shapes the world and ourselves.
